Ye KREWE of the FREEBOOTERS

History buffs may know that not too long ago the Gulf Coast of Florida was known as a hangout for Pirates; well it still is, but now the pirates are not a bunch of cuthroats but krewe's of hard working folks that raise a lot of money for charities and have a lot of fun in the process. Hernando County's Krewe, the FREEBOOTERS, is dedicated to promoting the Gulf Coast of Florida as a great place to live, work and play. We participate in parades and other events in the county and other cities in west central Florida. Unlike the pirates of olde we welcome ladies as well as gentlemen to be members of the Krewe.
